The CNC are looking to attract individuals with existing or previous police service within the policing family, to train to become Authorised Firearms Officers.

Whether you have had experience with firearms or not this should not deter you from applying.  You will be given the full firearms training to support you in upskilling to join our unique team. Joining the CNC would allow for officers to experience a different type of policing, all successful candidates will attend a conversion training course, where you will learn all about being a CNC Police Officer.

·         Police Service of Scotland

·         Police service of Northern Ireland (PSNI)

·         British Transport Police

·         Channel Isles and Isle of Man police

·         Ministry of Defence (MOD)

·         Police and Port of Tilbury Constabulary

·         Scottish Service of Scotland

*Please note that we do not consider Royal Parks Police and other non-Home Office forces not listed above

The CNC has differing pay scales and terms and conditions to the Home Office. Periods of service within a Home Office Force in a specific rank will be treated for pay and annual leave purposes, as if it were service in the corresponding rank of the CNC, in that it will be aligned with the relevant CNC pay scale for that rank.

You will be required to attend a CNC assessment centre, meet the medical and fitness standards (level 7.6 on the bleep test) and vetting requirements. For further information please rad our website, or alternatively contact the police recruitment team through the contact up application query link.
